Tasks & milestones

Tasks are actions on your agenda — each with a due date and status you can update. Milestones mark important dates in a directee's life — anniversaries, birthdays, recovery milestones, graduations. Both track progress and memory in one place.

Create a task

A task pairs a name with a due date and a status. You can categorize tasks and add notes, and move them through states as you work: To Do, In Progress, Completed, or Rejected.

  1. In the left navigation, open Resources → Tasks.
  2. Click New Task.
  3. Name the task in a way that tells you what to do.
  4. Set the due date (defaults to today).
  5. Choose a status: To Do starts as the default. You can change it anytime.
  6. Add an optional Category to group related tasks.
  7. If creating a new task, you can add a Task Note. If editing an existing task, the note field is hidden to keep the edit form simple.
  8. Click Save.

On the task list, you can mark a task Complete or Reopen it with a single click—no need to open the full form.

Attach a task to a directee

Tasks can live on their own in your task list, or you can attach them to a specific directee to keep them together. When you open a directee's profile, you'll see all their tasks in a dedicated section.

  1. Open the directee under People.
  2. Scroll to the Tasks section below the main profile details.
  3. Click Add Task (or the action button next to the Tasks heading).
  4. Fill in the task name, due date, status, and any notes, then save.
  5. The task now appears both in your global task list and under this directee's profile.

Create a milestone

A milestone is a date you want to remember for a directee — an anniversary, birthday, the day they got a new job, a recovery date, a graduation. It lives on the directee's profile and helps you mark what matters to them.

  1. In the left navigation, open Resources → Milestones.
  2. Click New Milestone.
  3. Name the milestone—for example, "First anniversary sober", "Daughter's graduation", or "Birthday".
  4. Select the directee this milestone belongs to. If they don't exist yet, you can create them inline.
  5. Set the milestone date.
  6. Assign a Category—Anniversary, Birthday, Recovery Date, New Job, Graduation, or create a custom one.
  7. Add an optional Milestone Note (longer-form context if you want it).
  8. Click Save.

See milestones on a directee's profile

Once you create a milestone, it appears in the Milestones section of that directee's profile. You can edit, view, or delete it from the profile view without leaving their page.

  1. Open the directee under People.
  2. Scroll to the Milestones section.
  3. Click the milestone to view its details, edit it, or delete it.

Milestones are a gentle way to notice and celebrate what's happening in your directees' lives without having to remember dates off the top of your head.
